so how far along are your kyoga fry tydus, care to give us an updated pic??

My Kyoga Flameback fry are doing very good. They are growing fast with the weekly water changes. I feed them twice a day with Hikari First Bites and they love it. I don't think a pic will be necessary since they are just fry and look like any other african cichlid fry. If you are asking for pics of my colony, go to the "Show your africans thread". ;)

these any good?? hes got them 3 for 52.00 and whatever shipping is on ebay, let me know what you think.

Oh and any recommendations on sponges filters???

Those egg tumblers look excellent. Very roomy and simple, a great tumbler for the beginners. The only thing that bothers me is that it doesn't have a 2nd screening to block the eggs from harm such as other fish eating the eggs through the 1st screening etc etc. But he states that he added a 2nd screening to them, so I think you're set. In my honest opinion, I think that these are worth it. Go for it if you really want the tumblers. :headbang2 Sponge filters are great for growing out cichlid fry and holding tanks. They will grow beneficial bacteria which the fry will consume on the sponge once the female spits out. How many tanks will you be getting sponge filters for?

Why waste the money on tumblers? Then you have to get fungicide. Just wait 14 days and strip the free swimmers from her.

14 days, huh, sounds cheaper lol, great idea thanks :)

Ive been entertaining the thought of maybe getting rid of some of the mbuna/jewels in my 55, then switching the remainder to the 45, and giving the 55 to the kyogas, i have 2m 7f kyogas. Do you think thats to much space for 9 fish??? If not how many more do you think i could put in there saftly?? Do you think the 45 would be to small for my remaining mbuna/jewels?? And of course keep in mind im always getting and moving tanks around, so nothings "for life". thanks in advance.

eventually i will probably weed out most of my mbuna in general, except for my elongatus chewere group, to make room for more victorians, which will be my main focus

I think it will be fine in the 55 for 9 fish... As for the mbuna, how many will be left in the 45 and it's foot print?

footprint is 36 long, 12 and a half inch wide, 24 high, and there would be a pair of jewels and probably around 8-10 mbuna, 7-8 inch pleco
