My adult male is showing very little color, and my little males are just starting to color. I asked Greg Steeves about it, and he said that the lack of competition is probably why my big male isn't coloring, and that I either should try to find a big male to add some competition, or just wait til my little guys to grow some.

According to Greg, he split a breeding colony, and I guess I have the lazy male! They guy that bought the other half had others, and has had no problem with them, so I'm just being patient at this point.

When these guys are little and have no color are egg spots on the anal fin an indicator of a possible male?

Well, then I possibly have at least 1 male in my new group of 4. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

I just went at looked at them and found 2 small ones with the spots. They are only about an inch inch and a half long. I'm a hoping!!!

i just double checked all my females for eggspots and none of them have any, and there all at least 3-4 inches long so if they were going to get any they would have them by now, so you mite be good:)

Oh and i have 5 holding female kyogas as of now:nilly:

I am SO jealous!!! I hope I get some males and can get some breeding under way. I have 9 total right now. 5 from my first group 4 in the second. The newbies are in a 16 gallon quarentine tank right now with the new Zue Islands.

so one of my kyogas finally spit today, probably around 30 fry maybe more, ive only noticed 2 with deformitys, and the female is on like freaking high alert lol, but shes got amazing color right now

oh, so cool...I am jealous. Hopefully sometime down the road I can get mine spawning. Still waiting for a male to show up.
