Ever since I got my silver arowana (2.5 months), it has not been a big eater. I would only eat once ever 2 or 3 days, so I only fed it every 2 to 3 days. It would mainly eat pellets, and every once in a while a silverside (very rare). Well, yesterday morning, I think it decided to break it's hunger strike. I was tossing in a couple of strips of tilapia fillet (which the aro never touches), when I saw it approach one of the pieces on the bottom. It eyed it, turned on it's side, and swallowed it whole! I was so ecstatic that I threw in another chunk, this one even bigger. It ate that one too. In all, the 14" arowana ate about 3/4 of the tilapia fillet. It ate another 1/2 fillet last night, and another 1/2 fillet this morning!!! I am so happy, I just had to share! I hope he becomes a real fatty :D:D:D

Nice....prepare for a bigger feeding bill.

no worries! It's just the next step to becoming a true MFK! BTW, I can get tilapia fillets for under $.10 over here each. Plus I fish for bluegills and wild tilapia year round :headbang2

Sometime I get addicted to feeding my fishes. So much till I enjoy throwing food into their tanks.:D

Best is you can keep them from eating off the bottom, when they pick up food of the substrate they will scrape their eyes, possibly causing injury.
