In search of Leiarius
Just picked up an 8 inch Leiarius marmoratus, Dark red brown with black spotting, and 2 (4 inch) megaladoras 1m and 1f for $112. Just got done acclimating them to my 100 gallon and they are now getting used to their new surroundings, still shy. lights are off. The other fish in the tank are 2 medium sized goldfish, 2 small Koi, and a 10 inch megaladoras. Koi are going to a garden pond once a over 12 inches along with the goldfish.

Diet for the new catfish will be fish filets, game fish pellets, shrimp, worms, and whatever else for treats.

NO Pics due to camera now only tacking staticy/white noise pics:(

By mid august they will be in a three hundred stock tank, after it cycles.

--Acclimated the cats for 20 or so minutes, switching water, new for old, floating the bags and adding prime to their bags.
worried and excited only worried due to temp in tank is 86F hoping heater is working properly, set at 79f when water went to 86f, but turned it down ten minutes ago to 72f, dont want to roast them, even though theirs plenty of airation.

Temp. is fine, my 300 in the garage has reached 90F before and the fish were fine (peacock bass and L. marmoratus.) But $112 for those fish seems like a ripoff to me, who did u get them from?

$60- leiarius
$44- 2 megaladoras
+ tax= $112.
Not a rip off to me.

I named the Leiarius, Sequoia after the tree, because he gets bigish and he is chocolate red in color with the black spoting over him and mahogany eyes.
He has already eaten some diced shrimp.
The new megaladoras arent to hungry but they should grow almost as fast as the Leiarius, learned that live clams drive megaladoras into feeding frenzies at night.

The lfs owner just broke even with the catfish he sold me.

Which LFS?

Sorry I<3fish, forgot to mention the fish store is called Aquariums Plus and is located off of Victor avenue, next to the corner of Victor and east cypress avenues, in Redding, California.
If you are in my area I would like to meet yah in person and see your Leiarius.

All three are currently eating and swimming about the tank happily.

Pics??!

Yeah, I'm in the area, my marbled's tank (300 acrylic) is sorta embarrassing right now as its filled with tannins from the driftwood, also needs the scratches buffed out, lol. Other than that, he has a little gouge on his side.

I usually go to Mike at The Deep, because hes close.
