I know sly's story....what are you two going to do with them and what size tanks do you have?

Sly you tank is in pretty much the same stage mine is. Your cycle is done so you must have some nitrates in there. I doubt they are high enough to hurt anything yet. Its time for you to change some water now anyway. That will help.

You read my mind, and was exactly what I did last night when I setup the Feeder/Hospital tank (took 15g's from the 90g to fill up the F&H with).

Now - I'm going to do 15g changes every Sunday, and hopefully any Nitrates in there will be minimal. What is the affects of Nitrates? I know Ammonia is the worst, and Nitrites affect the Liver and Kidneys (if exposed for a long period of time), but what will Nitrates do to the fish? How long is too long for them to be around (assuming they are)?

There will always be a nitrate level in your tank if the biofilter is working. Fish continuously make ammonia which your bio will turn into nitrites and then quickly into nitrates. When you get your test kit it will explain alll of the proces and levels. Anything at or above 40 ppm is considered not good for nitrates.

I think it's normal ,I don't look at my musky that much , but all of the other predators that I've kept did it also. I personally think it could be as simple as it's keeping the muscles in it's jaw stretched to make sure that they could catch a fish easily if it was to swim by.

So you currently are raising Muskies? Are they Tigers or Spotted or Barred?

I have only one tiger musky presently (A beast of one , I might say).He is for sale also. I dig catfishes too much. $25.00 + shipping gets it. I've kept lots of native fishes. I also can aquire lots of native fishes to sell and ship , as long as they are not considered a sportfish in TN. I also have one Bullhead Cat (spotted) 4" or so. Sorry that I didn't put this in buy/sell. I repent. ZACH:thumbsup:
