Here.
I have finaly snaped and have gave in to geting more fish. (might as well go out with a BANG! )

Tonight after work it seemed like a good time to start a pond , its about 2000 liters ( 500? gallons) 8 foot x 5 foot x 2 foot

I am still not sure if I will use it to grow up my aros and gigas or the alligator gars or the Pbass :nilly: ugh , hahah but I do know this wont be the last pond I will be building in the next few months.

Heres some pics , more in the next few days with the filtration setup and seating around it etc to tidey it up a bit , then all going well should have some fish in there in a week or two once I start cycling it.

This will only be a temp pond for the fish I put in it , I am hoping it will last at least 4 - 5 months untill they out grow it!

is it really that easy?
concrete floor, 2x8's, screws, and a pond liner?

Yup , bigger you go the more you have to suport the sides though.

Did you add any kind of padding between the liner and the wood?

Diden't need to , I could of put down underlay but the liner is pretty strong and the wood was nice and smooth.

the taller you go the more you have to support the sides, also the longer the side is. may want to invest in some cheapy metal L brackets for the corners, other than that it is that simple. the filtration is a little trickier but not much.

yep...metal "L" brackets is what i used on my pond.....what kind of filter are you going to be running?
