Personally, I'm not a fan of the fake decor. I do use some fake plants because I don't have a setup for live plants, but that's pretty much as far as I go.
But hey, people should just set up their tanks so it looks good to them and won't harm your fish in anyway...like one of the lfs stores near me that puts match box cars in the tanks and they just rust away.
