yeah new thinbar

Do frozen shrimp if the tank has other tankmates that will go after it. It will realize that it's food. The risk about frozen shrimp at first is it sinks and the thin bar will lose absolute interest if the shrimp made it to the ground. You want the thin bar to get it while it's sinking.

Dried krill has a higher success rate in the beginning for thin bar IMO. It stays on top of the water to tempt the thin bar to get it. When the thin bar is hungry enough it will dash for it.

they wont eat anything off the floor, like the blood worms i just tried.
wouldshrimp on a string work since he is to scared to go to the top of the tank

man it takes forever to train 3-4" thin bars to eat anything but feeders. i starved my 3 thin bars for 3 weeks and they started to eat blood worms (that i was using to feed my indos). i wanted them to eat MP, but they still didnt ignored it and ate super small portions of blood worms. so i gave up and sold them.

I was always the assumption that if a fish comes from brackish water... then regular aquarium wont do a thing to raise the salinity. You have to get a reliable hydrometer and some Marine salt and mix to a specific gravity (SG) necessary for the fish. I havent ever kept Dats or anything brackish- I was looking into it awhile back before going another route.

let me guess.......bigals????? I bought and returned..........used the return policy............ on one of their "brackish" thinbars??????????? WTF??? how about freshwater!!!:)............the manager insisted that these were a heavily brakish fish............i gave up and got store credit.....for dry goods!!!!!;)

did the dat die? i took 6 hours to get him used to the tank water. now he is fine and has colored up a bit until he sees me. I am guessing the water is good for him if he has live this long, the other died within 3 days.
do they know the difference between fd krill and frozen?

yeah....if you soak fd krill or shrimp it sticks absolutely horrible after a few hrs...........use frozen and either just throw it in or thaw and pour it in the tank to simulate live food..........my NGT and Indo love it!!!
