The ones I had were 4" and 6" when I got them. My pond is half full of brazillian elodea and I have a super aggressive 17 inch largemouth bass, so that might have played a roll in rarely seeing them. I saw one come out of some elodea and attack a creek chub once. It was really cool.Lol, I hope I see him more when he reaches the 8" mark.
I like the elodea. It gives my fish protection from birds and cats. Plus it's become a friggin blue spotted sunfish gold mine. I have like 40+ blue spotted sunfish in my pond. They thrive in the elodea.Nice. The rudd and goldfish in my pond eat any underwater plants so I hope to get rid of them in the Autumn. And then mooar koi![]()
