Yellow Calvus

Just picked up a 1 inch yellow calvus cichlid i believe. Anyone have any experience with these? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Any tips on the good looking guys would be appreciated.

they are tanganyikan cichlids, need pristine water

Keep the water clean, feed a quality staple pellet and give them plenty of hiding places.

They are great fish!

Mine is extremely shy at the moment. How is there personality usually? Aggressive towards other fish? Like to just hang out or swim?

They are generally more laid back. I haven't seen them bee too aggressive to anything other than the same species.

Ok, i keep hearing clean water. I do 30% water changes weekly and siphon any waste. Is that a good definition of clean?

I currently keep one black calvus and one compressiceps and for me 30% every 2 weeks is good enough. Water cleanliness is case to case basis since your filter/s and bioload have a major influence on it.

Very shy fish. I do about the same for water changes, mine are happy!!! They are great fish.
