except that guapotes include Parachromis and Red bay snooks, all of which have different shaped large gaping mouths and reach 12-24", Salvini don't fit the description of guapote to myself.

whatever moving along...

Well if you look at the over all head shape of Dovii, grammodes, and salvini, beani, etc., etc. there are similar characteristics, and I do believe that Salvini are known as a "mini guapote".

Either way 100 bucks is a lot of money for a fish that may, or may not be what they say it is. And for a Grammodes? Even if it is yellow....... I would make sure your getting what your paying for... If its freddy or loisellei I say waaaaay to much, Beani I dont know how much those are worth but from what Ive seen are pretty cool.

i think freddy are rarer than grammodes and if its yellow that's most likely wat it will be

I'm thinking about going back there to get it. They wanted 100 for it though.
It won't be a beani, too rare, I doubt if it's a xanthic grammode. $100 would not be enough and really doubt it would be in a pet store, most likey a mislabled female freddy or loisellei and $100 is way to much. Ken

I think he's talking about these...

I can't remember where I got these pics, but I'd pay $100 for one of those.

That's just a normal male grammodes.

Hmmm...$100 fish that is like a yellow grammodes. Istlanum? All anybody is going to give is a guess without a photo.

Best way I can describe it

Long like a grammodes, and not really stocky like a dovii.
It was yellowish, no other colors on the body
The fins were brownish and had small egg spots towards the back end of the fin
Definately american
I think there might have been something wrong with it's stomach bassically a upside down u shape

Terd, sorry man that's not the fish

I would think if it doesn't look like a grammodes, it probably isn't a grammodes.
