Water tests normal, I did change food lately. Went from Hikari Gold, to Hikari Staple. They don't seem to like the Staple as much. They always get spectrum sinking pellets too.

He doesn't act sick.

My wife seems to think it's a hyprid with the Blue Johanni, that just recently started showing it's johanni side.

I think he is either stressed or sick, I have 3 yellow labs and one turned a little silverish gray when he was getting his but kicked around a bit. I removed the Mike tyson of the group and the silver was gone and he turned his bright yellow again within a week. I would quarantine him just to be on the safe side.

I agree, looks sick, not sure what is...

could be very stressed out. did you recently add fish or have a new dominant male arise? its common that if a fish is dominant male, they will have fuller and more impressive colors. then if they are overpowered, they don't have the same color.... kinda the same as wearing a pimp coat. flashy til someone tells you that you lost your corner and they punk you. but yeah, he looks sick on top of it all

Definately looks like a disease.
Try fishyfarmacy.com disease diagnosis. Skin disease or color change.
