it takes a lot of time and learning before anyone comes with some nice hybrid
there are a few member here who have done it and are doing this hybridizing thing for a long time and might be able help you, try and ask about for help
they might chime in to help

firstly the yellow lab is a mouth brooder. the convict is not.
fail before start.

Better if you find two fish that breed the same way, could possibly breed(not kill eachother) the size difference. genetics and so on.....

think about it more

usually hybridising journals are kinda trade secrets
but there might be generous hobbyists that might help you

If u did it you would be the first to hybridise a african and a central american cichlid no one has done this to my knowledge. I don't belive it can be done well atleast not naturaly but i bet u can make a frankenfish in a test tube tho that's how we got rtc x tsc cool things can happen with hybrids evan more so if u have a lab. [muwwhahahaha my mad scientist laugh.]

there are natural yellow and back striped cichlids out there if that's all you want.

i wouldnt mid a natural one but a hybrid one would look cooler in my opinion
