Yellow Peacock not coming up to eat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The oscar needs a 90 gallon.

I think the fish definitely have something. I guess it may be a secondary ailment after the first ICH outbreak or they are getting ICH again (currently there are no external signs). Three of my fish started flashing against stones in the tank (including Peacock). My jewel cichlid started spasming against the glass. I have never seen this before (she may be rubbing against the glass) I dont know, it looks like a very small seizure. I am increasing the temp as we speak and will increase the salt content to 1 TBSP p/ 4 gallons vs 1 TSP. Do you guys think I need more. I also bought a quarantine tank and will work on feeding the peacock.

If I can get the oscar to full size I will gladly buy a 90g tank as its dimensions are not much larger than my 55g.

I have been doing an 8% water change every day or every other day for the last 2-3 weeks. I have slowed down since the tank has cycled. I checked all the water parameters again today and they are all good. I bought some jungle internal parasite pellets as I thought they might have gill flukes as the flashing is against the face/gill area. The fish ate them when they were hungry, but got tired of them quickly, my tinfoil barb appears to love them.

The auratus, jewel, and peacock are all flashing now. The other fish dont appear to have any problems. I tried isolating the auratus and jewel, but its impossible to catch them (and I have a big net). I was able to quarantine the peacock, but he doesnt look good. He will probably go back to petco in a ziplock bag in exchange for a refund or some meds.

I used coppersafe for the ich outbreak during my tank cycling and am leary of using meds on the entire tank again. I like the idea of medicated pellets, hopefully they work and dont make the healthy fish sick.

As part of the water changes I have been adding a few drops of prime and a tsp of salt p/4gallons.
