how do i put carbon into my eheim 2080? do i just mix it up with the other substate in the filter or is there a special method of doing it?

I think I know what your problem is. Sounds to me like your fish are peeing in the water.

I looked around for you and I'm not sure how to add carbon to your filter. I keep finding carbon filter pads for eheims, but not for the 2080's

I guess you would have to put the carbon in media bags and throw them in an en\mpty media container.

you can put the carbon in a media bag and let it float in the tank for a week. It doesnt need to be in your filter

I would use Purigen instead. 3 Reasons: Pulls out nitrates, is rechargable, does cause tank to mini cycle when is removed. Sadly I learned number 3 when I decided to go without carbon in my tank.

Good pointPurigen removes all nitrogenous waste and therefore would drastically reduce the beneficial bug population...........Hmmmm.......sounds like an addictive product
