new addition to the future breeding program (coming this summer). I like.... you like? niiiice

he arrived upside down so i slowly introduced him and no lights will be used in this room today. looks like he's death curling but he's not in this crap photo

Are they Rare? how big do they get again?? I want either a Yepezi or a Leo, for my next Ray! GREATTTTTTTTT FIND! u needa fatten up that lil bugger! props and good luck!

i got it from aquascape online for $125. massiveaggression.com is getting some in 2 weeks or so. this is the deal with the breeding project. by the summer i am making a frame for a pond out of wood. then im using a pond liner to finish it off. this is going in my basement. i'm seeing more and more how important it is for us to start breeding rays and i want to jump on that. he's fat as hell and im going to be working all week to convert him off of blackworms to krill and troutworms. im going to start with 2 motoros, one of which i have now, so by the time the summer comes he'll be old enough to breed. im hoping to spend about a grand on the setup. if it goes well, i'll go bigger.

the picture does look like he has death curl and i would say it a nazca ray not yapezi but i may be wrong

they stay relatively small. it'll get over a foot and the tail doesnt get long like a retics. i dont think they are all that rare and as far as my research goes, they are good starter rays.

I think this is a great idea.

They are not rare but no one is breeding them. If hobbyists can start providing captive bred smaller, more common rays it will be great for everyone.

If you hear of someone breeding rays, there is a 97% chance that they will be motoros.

I have no idea whay people are not trying to breed some others. I have been working on my histrix project for 8 years. I can't wait until the day arrives that I get some histrix pups.

precisely what i was thinking. most people do not have 3ft. wide tanks and really can only accomodate retics, humerosas, yepezis, and other relatively small rays if they can support any at all. these are harder to find in my opinion. i am obviously trying to turn a buck here in the future as well. I have alot more research to do surrounding breeding but I have a year to do it so I will be well prepared. hopefully I can become a known supplier of small rays. haha.
