sorry, but I gotta bore you with my bleeding heart mumbo jumbo.

now I am not aganist feeding mice, but that guy obviously fed a mouse that was too big just so he could watch it die. thios makes him a sadist and inflicter of animal cruelty. he also is keeping that gar in far too small a tank.

feel free to flame me and tell me that mouse would have died like that in the wild, but that doesn't change the fact this sicko just did it for his own amusement.
 
(in my opinion ) i dont think the gar had any problems at all with the size of the mouse
it was just making sure it was dead before swallowing it
 
for the people that posted that the mouse was too big for the gar and he couldnt eat it your probably wrong. i had 2 gars that were 14 inches and could eat 6 inch creek chubs. they can swallow larger meals then most fish.
