Q.Are there different gape limitations for different species?
A.yes there is
Q.It seems that my delhezis have a much larger gape than the ornates or moke, but not as wide as the lapradei.
A.Gape limitations has little to do with the mouth opening. -Anne

excellent head shot of the ornate.Anyone want to speculate on what the lil white circles are?

I believe it is part of their lateral line? It senses water pressure and such, I believe they are filled with fluid surrounding a nerve ending.

What is the definition of gape limitation? I thought it was the degree to which their jaws could open?

yea laterial line like arowanas but on the head
