LOL nono not you, I meant mine. I ran out of tank space a few years ago so i stuck my new retic with my jar. The day after, when i went to feed them, they were fighting over a peice of shrimp and my jar ATE my retic. Only thing left was half the tail and the spine. Other than that, the whole stingray was eaten.
:eek::WHOA::jaw::eek3::crazy::jaw-dropp:shocked: thats CRAZY :ROFL:

once i have seen a 17" jardini kept with a group of clown loaches in LFS but they had it just to keep them for 2weeks while some guy was getting bigger aquarium.

got my jardini! not aggresive at all. woot woot! but just the opposite real big p*&&^. already missing one third of his scales from getting beaten up.

my 1 year old, 18-inch jar grew up with a Loiselli, synodontis cat and a pleco in a 100 gallon tank.....all are in there still, the Loiselli (now 8-9 inches long) usually keeps to a corner, and he does get nipped and chased once in a while, usually when feeding them. I did add 3 tinfoils in the 4" range and he slowly killed them off over a couple months, they just couldnt take many hits and eventually died from their injuries, but he only would hit them on accasion......I always feed the jar first, and then the others.......cycling a 220 now, and will keep those guys together in there, and am going to add a few more.....Motoro stingray will be in there before I put the jar in.....wish me luck!

Success is a matter of opinion. These people talking of their 4" jars are a far cry from success. Why not be more specific and find people who have owned their jars for more then a couple of months. :screwy:

I agree this should be have you kept your big jar with tankmates.

Mine was too till it hit the magical 10" range. Then the jar will get it's revenge.

I've got a 15" jar with 6 blood parrots and 3 plecos. He attacks the plecos quite a bit and snaps at the parrots, but I haven't noticed any fin damage.

Personally I feel the key is keeping everyone well fed. The nipping gets worse when they're hungry.

so im thinkn about buying a baby jardini for my tank.
i know jardini is known as a solo fish.
but i have seen many with tankmates.
just wondering hows everyone elses luck?
and if yes wins! i wont stop until i get that peaceful jardini.
and dont suggest a leichartdi. i have owned many leichartdis be4
i think jardinis look much better.
It's hard to say, bro. I had one at 12". He has no problem with sharing tank with 2 black aros, or other fish. He even got beaten up by an African aro :eek: However, I got one recently, 18"-20", and he starts beating up the silver aro tank mate. The previous owner kept it solo, so I guess it has not learn how share, yet! :D
