Female redtails need to be bigger than 6ft to breed....more like 8-10 feet...but its more a function of body weight than length.

Female red tails that are underweight tend to throw litters of slugs or still-borns or not produce at all. Just saying not to get your hopes up, and I probably wouldn't house her with a male until she is at an appropriate breeding weight.

shes fat she is probally over 7 feet and I have heard of smaller females giving birth my hopes arnt high as it was never full intentions on breeding them they will have to remain together as I have no other option....

Thats a shame...housing snakes together, especially larger ones, has many negative long-term consequences.

Spread of disease, stress, dominance, and feeding issues are a few on a long list. Boas have also been known to be cannibalistic in stressful situations. If you won't take my word for it, I know of a few professional boa breeders that I could refer you to if you'd like more information.

they have a 4x8 custom built cage they show no signs of stress feeding is not a problem as I just slide the divider in I made for the cage let them stay separate overnight they are either in one hide or the other...they are at the vet frequent she has been there once since I got there.....

that's awesome nic, i really hope they are successful.........post some pics....are they regular red tails, or colombians? i really want a baby lol.........good luck..........

they are columbians I want true red tails like surinam guyana or peru ones but don't have the space to keep them now
