Yet another DIY 125 gal. stand. pics

Remember to Pre-drill holes for screws or else you will crack the wood. As i said in the previous post that this was my 1st attempt at working with wood and would like to thank those DIY threads that assisted me in completing this project. I feel that the stand is very sturdy and i know i can sleep at night not worrying about water on the carpet.

Seeing this is just what I need to build my confidence. I'll soon be building a stand for my 200. My Brother-in-law will be helping me and he's good with wood. But I've still been nervous about it. Good job on it!

No need to predrill the holes if you get self tapping counter sinking construction screws. Now only will they feed themselves in without cracking the wood but you can sink the head without tapping that as well. Saves a ton of time.

Adding skin and some trim are the PITA steps to do perfectly but boy do they ever add some serious enjoyment afterwards seeing the fully completed project.

You can see some of how I skinned and such in this one and especially not what a difference it makes to add those final touches: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=357512

So, today I built my 125 stand exactly like this. Looks like it will hold up well. The tank`s empty, but I will fill it tomorrow and see how it holds up. Thanks for the thread and the pictures!
