The black background did eventually get him

but since then, i've added white gravel and he's very BRIGHT now but has lost most of his red. i will update w/ a photo/video soon.

here's a little update.

he's lost his red due to the background, but got alot lighter once i put in the white gravel. now i'm thinking about adding those colored glass pebbles to see if it will have any effects.
