Soak it's food in epsom salt solution. That'll get rid of any internal parasites. I do this for all of my new GT's just as a precautionary measure. They seem to get IP's really easily, and the epsom salt food treatment is not detrimental to their health in any way.
Also, treating the water will do little to get rid of any IP's. You're just dumping your money down the drain. You'll do better soaking pellets in epsom salt solution.
