Good going Zoodiver.
My gf and I definitely noticed a makeover on the tank last time we were there(2 months ago) and hadnt been there for like a year.
Great job, the tank was looking pretty dull last i saw it
Gonna bump with a few pics from this week. I'm slowly stocking up on filler fish again to make sure it looks it's best when MACNA is in town in a few weeks.
Not many. One or two. Sharks won't hunt if they aren't hungery. When they do hunt, they will go for easy prey. Chasing a healthy fish usually expends more energy than eating the fish will replace. A steady (and controlled) diet for the sharks allows the addition of loads of fish like this.
That being said, I fill with mostly schooling fish that are easy to get (cheap). I also try to put them in small. If a shark does get one, it goes down hole instead of the sharks tearing up a large fish and trashing my water quality. Other than the hystrix puffer, the live stock is squirrel fish, snapper, jacks, damsels and various grunts (French, Spanish, Blue line, Cottonwick, White...).
That is not to bad at all. It is like keeping tetras with rays then if you keep them well fed they tend to leave them alone. You'll still lose one or two here and there but not to bad.

My biggest offender was/is the nurse shark pup. She'll get into 'vacuum mode' from time to time. Lobster were the hardest thing to keep her away from. I have two that have managed to figure out avoid her mouth.

There is always one. Mine is my bdxleo. No matter how much you feed them sometimes they never seem to get full. At least the survivors have figured out the trick.
