The law of nature allows a certain percentage to be loss during their young lifes to predators, but, the overall survival rate is still greater than in the hands of humans. This is a simple law of nature.
Think of ALL the endangered species if human factor had not been included.

I have to disagree on this one. I don't have data to support (disclaimer) but fish seem to have a lot of off spring as a breeding strategy. They go with quantity. Most breed at least annually and have hundreds of young. I think that strategy evolved do to the high mortality rate in the wild. I would say over all survival rate is better in the aquarium.
Also, something like 90% of all species that have lived on earth are extinct and most of the extinctions happened way way before man ever walked upright. Extinctions are natural occurrences even if man causes em and we haven't caused that many (over all).
