Yes, BUT the death rate in captivity in the hands of amateurs are greater.

The law of nature allows a certain percentage to be loss during their young lifes to predators, but, the overall survival rate is still greater than in the hands of humans. This is a simple law of nature.

Think of ALL the endangered species if human factor had not been included.

I have to disagree on this one. I don't have data to support (disclaimer) but fish seem to have a lot of off spring as a breeding strategy. They go with quantity. Most breed at least annually and have hundreds of young. I think that strategy evolved do to the high mortality rate in the wild. I would say over all survival rate is better in the aquarium.

Also, something like 90% of all species that have lived on earth are extinct and most of the extinctions happened way way before man ever walked upright. Extinctions are natural occurrences even if man causes em and we haven't caused that many (over all).

first of all, you guys are very lucky to be having hundreds of baby I.T.s coming in. here in the Philippines, we just got around 50pcs 2-3"er in ONLY 1 LFS (not sure when will be the next batch or if there is more but being held to control the price)

Second, I also hope that those ordering 20pcs and above know what they are getting their self into.. these are monsters in the making and will require a big tank.

lastly, I think these influx of tigers are not W/C (or I wish it is not). Dats coming are similar in size, I'm not sure if you can get those amount of same sized fish in the wild (considering they are endangered species)

oh.. we only got 4/4 bars. I only saw 2 unique(out of 50) but still 4 bars.

+1 on my hunch that baby indos coming in are not W/C.

Sorry for the double post. :chillpill:
