Ornate looks as happy as pie! It sucks when its a fav. Throw some florida or spotted gars in there. They will live w/ the bichirs happily. And if you liked your needle nose you'll love a real gar.
 
Sorry to hear. Lost my ropefish from being chomped on, probably from the ornate.
 
Ropefish = Bichir spagetti! :D
 
The only bichir tankmate for the ropefish are the smaller varieties of bichir like sengal or delhezi.

**UPDATE**

Well if it wasn't enough to know that he had been eaten I officially got confirmation that he was food! I left for about 3 hrs today to go over my sisters house and when I got home I smelled something that was just plain awful. I thought it was the trash but after throwing it out I just happened to glance at my tank and saw that my Ornate threw my ropefish back up. I guess that he was indeed too big for him to comfortably eat. I snapped a few quick shots then yanked him out of there. Sorry for the gross pictures but here he is.
