They said it was a golddust. But I was not sure as it looks so different from my other golddust. I have a video of him I can post too. But I need to clean it up.

Looking at the new video/pictures. It's pattern does look odd but then again I've never seen a small palmas palmas. I've had small buettikoferi though. Looks nothing like it. Here is an old photo of my palmas and buettikoferi for comparison. Both were 10"-12".

Can we get a good side shot? Nose to tail

Also a top view shot for your own reference. It has been said by Toyin in older forums that these 2 species usually aren't caught in the same body of water in the wild. Assuming yours is WC. Also he noted that to aid in identifying. Look at the top view of the head. Palmas palmas is more tapered and Beutikofferi are rounder.

So there's my golddust.

It's hard to get good pics of the new one he's still skittish. I don' know if it's wc or not. Theyve had them about 3 weeks.

@ twentyleague if your poly wasn't such an oddball pattern. King-el once made this visual reference on the markings to help us idenify these two subspecies in the past. It was genius. :--)
