last week, I took about 2 hours, taking all of the stupid looking purplish stone things out of my tank (that my GF bought and NEEDED to put in my tank when I wasnt home) to bring the gravel back to its natural apperance. nothing obsessed about that at all. Just concerned for the fishes well-being and sanity.

It was a beautiful weekend up here in Winnipeg...it's too bad I missed it LOL
The only time I saw the sun was when I was sorting rocks! ...well worth it though!...the cichlids are happy in their new home...all jockeying to be top fish and the pacus have much more space to play! We have come a long way in a few short months!

I sort my gravel, by size and color. I sort my freeze dried krill by size, grind food into powder, for fry food, and i also Save the water i siphon from water changes in used milk jugs as plant fertillizer

The sorting of gravel seems a bit wacky to me. I can see sorting fish food by size, prolly helps keep wasted food down, as for using the dirty fish water for fertilizer, that just save you $$$$ on fertilizer.
