X2... either that or Saturday... whichever day i'm not feeling too lazy...

My home made Python has really taken the Lazy factor out of the equation for me. 50' of line right to the flower bed, refill right from the tap after adding a dose of prime. 60% water change and gravel vac done in 25 minutes start to finish. Change out the filter sock. and GTG.

When u cant see from one end off a tank to the other and its only a 2ft tank. :nilly:. or like in nemo when ur cleaning crue has a scum mustache :P

You know you need to clean your tank when you see poop all over the "floor" :yuck:

I don't ever vacuum the poop, I just leave it and eventually it disappears, thinking maybe it goes to poop heaven. :D

I use the aquen changer similar to the python, with the plastic tube it's useless for vacuuming. I discovered the longer the tube the less it can pick up. Using the hose without the tube seems to work better, but you pick up sand too. How are you starting the siphon off a 50 ft hose ? I can never get any siphon without it connected to the faucet and running water, unless I'm using the regular hose that doesn't connect to faucet which is only a few feet. Are you sucking the other end because I think that's disgusting.

Yeah, for me the laziness comes from cleaning the sand bed etc... and since i also use a hose to drain my tank so that part is quick... its just the actual cleaning of everything else that makes me lazy at times...

50 ft hose, try this:
First add water into the tank using the hose with the vacuum then flip the vacuum upside down so it's filled with water. Now you can stop the faucet and then disconnect the hose from it, water should come flowing out.

In order for this to work the whole tube/hose and vacuum has to be filled with water before you stop the faucet.

It should siphon automatically after that. Make sure there are no kinks in the hose, or the flow will not be as fast/strong. Once/if it stops, accidentally, you'll have to start it the same way again.
