You might have too many fish when...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hmm..

well, i put a fish in my tank
didn't see it for 2 days, assumed it was eaten..
didn't even see it during any water chaanges..
3 weeks later i see it swimming by my glass...

interesting fish!!!
and i too am looking to upgrade to a biiig tank (well... big to me!)

i have a guppy problem
they reproduce faster than the bichirs could eat them
so im donating some to neighbors as feeders

Well here is the moment that i realized that i was way in over my head. A good friend of mine and I were sitting in hsi fishroom talking about how we both need to knock out walls in our house to expand our fishrooms when we got the idea to start a store and well Fins was born here in sudbury ontario. That was likely the moment i realized that we had too many fish when three friends can get together and stock and entire store and still maintain our own fishrooms at home...............oh and i realized that i have fry ready to go every day and i have no idea when i stripped the females.

Well not to long ago i was cleaning the tank, picked up an ornament, ans something shot out in a blur of sand. I nearly jumped. For about 5 min i couldn't figure out what i had saw. Later i say my dojo loach behind a rock. I really had forgotten he was in the tank :P

when all ure friends start making fun of u and when u become the butt of jokes for all things fish x_X

Jeering friends make good fish food. A gravel wash later removes all evidence.

When someone asks you what day of the week it is and you have to think back to which water changes you did today before you can answer.
(I change my water in each room on different days of the week).

I just read these replies (For some reason I never subscribed to my own thread. :screwy:) and just wanted to thank everyone for making me feel like I'm not the only insane one out there. :)

You know may have too many fish when your house is 2500 sq/ft and your fish room is 8000+ sq/ft
I want an 8000 sq ft fish room. It might finally clear up the fish tank infestation in my house. They have taken over the kitchen, living room, and garage. I love it, but it would be nice to have a place to cook again. :)

Red Devil and Twisted Penguin: I totally get the insanity of having to do too many water changes. I'm sick of it, and dancing over the idea that my new system will be on an auto water changer! :headbang2 I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all this new found time! :)

And to everyone who commented on their friends who think they are nuts... Well, we all have our vices, and keeping monster fish is our big weird thing. Unlike our friends, its not something we can, or, really want to, hide.
