You think these are good?

I think those dragon/dinosaur pictures are fantastic! I've been drawing dragons ever since I was very little. Its just about the only thing I can draw. Do you mind if I post one of my dragon pictures?

Thanks! That's my favorite movie ever.
- My shading is spontaneous. I shade where i feel like lol.
- I only do that if I cant get it. I f I like the way it comes out, I decide not to risk it and just keep going.
- i try.
- I can't switch styles. it just doesnt work like that for me. I do try to vary my medium, it's just the pencil ones that end up being finished lol.
- I know my proportions suck, but ahh well. I've made a few notes recently, like that the foot is the length of the forearm, the jaw is half of the upper arm, the upper leg is the length of the midsection, etc etc.
- That is physically impossible lol. Not only do my hands turn black while earasing, but my scanner is so sensitive to smudges that it'll pic up things i never saw. I do what I can though.

Thanks for the tips! Oh and random question: which PL pic did you see? there's four or five.

I saw the one where Pan kinda merges with the woods. I have some of the same problems that you have, I was just remembering what my professor told me. You're a lot better at drawing people than I am though. I have a deviant art account now!!! Username is Death-Pony7.

Just remembered an eraser you might want to try out. It's either called a gum eraser or a putty eraser, but it can be molded like clay and comes in use when cleaning up smudges. It absorbs the extra lead like a sponge! Comes in use when cleaning around tricky contours. I usually turn the eraser into a penguin, duck, and I once mad a dragon!!!

You could probably draw better than me with your eyes closed and a fat-tip magic marker. Good job.

pretty good job there! im an artist also. i see that your medium is pencil, right? you may want to go get some charcoal pencils and graphite pencils and test those out.. you can work on your shading that way, and they offer some real depth and texture to your drawings.. i think youd like them alot, and they would add alot of interest to your work!

my preferred mediums are pencil, graphite, charcoal and pastels. i love shading and attention to detail ..

i was going to college to become an art teacher (i have a little over 90 college credits lol) then decided since i live in a small town i would have a hard time getting hired, and i own a house.. so moving is not an option. its now a hobby of mine that i use as a stress release..

your art is really good for being 13. just keep up with it, and take as many art (even art history!) classes you can get your hands on.. it will help you fine tune yourself..

great job!!!:D

I paint, design tattoo flash, and do some graphite sketches myself. I like your work...proportions to me arnt so important as the piece in itself. Long as things are hideously off its fine to me. I think you should give some of your pieces some color...Im mostly a fan of your horse drawings...very nice. The anime style people are well done, but just not my cup of tea. Continue on with it...your doing nicely so far.

Optimist: Thank you! By all means, post it!

Death Pony: Awesome I'll check it out ASAP! And as for kneadable erasers, I had one that i used a lot, but then i had a piece of clay that was the exact same color, and i couldn't tell which was which....eheh

Vicious: Yeah, i tried charcoal. Not really crazy about it, especially sincce most of this is on computer paper. And those are F***IN AWESOME!!! I LOVE THAT FIRST ALIEN!!!

Navygirl: Thanks, but i never really liked how my charcoals came out. I use pastel pencils sometimes, but not often. And I'm sorry to hear that, but maybe you'll find something else you enjoy.

Proaquatics: Get over it ;P lol. This is the section for NON-fish related topics right? Hahah jk jk. I do have fish pics, but I'm not crazy about em so i dont post em. Maybe I'll draw my dragonfish for my icon though...

MCHR: Thanks! My parents want me to bring my art to a tattoo place and see if they'll buy some of the images. I hate proportions. If something's even a tiny pit askew, it bothers the living daylights outta me. Every now and then I do color, but not often, and usually in photoshop. Horse fan I take it? Nice MM icon, btw.

Thanks again everybody!!!

Holy crap Seth, do you ever get professional jobs doing those wall murals?!?!?!
