yeah, I have that pic somewhere, along with a few others that are about that size. I have a pic of an unconfirmed wels that is from russia that is supposed to be over 1000 lbs. Not sure where it's at though.

here's a link from your neck of the woods. Another idea that could be cool is to make a sticky called catfish links. That way everyone could have a place to post up some amazing catfish links to vids and stories.

I have seen a load of stuff about the Silurus glanis getting to 1000lb in the Volga river and certain lakes in Russia. "In Russia "Ssum"( Ssum or Sheatfishare) are frequently caught at 600lb+ by trawlers.The local anglers use baby pigs for bait. Makes my 27lb i caught last year look like a minnow

Yep we get a few storeys like that every year the thing is they are getting bigger now and people are illegally releasing them the same problem you have with the snakeheads people think its cool to own one then when it get to big just drop it in the local lake. They electro fished one of the big Reservoir in East London 2 years ago it had huge carp in it 40 lb + they found a huge albino wells in there that no one knew anything about. But like your self I like them I like fishing for them if managed properly and not near a river system there not a problem.
