One thing Cichla have going for them is that they are so intolerant of low temps, so I hope they are not on the list of banned species. Of course, we all have to remember that the bill has to actually pass first. I am not freaking out yet, but it will be very bad if they do pass it for those that are herp lovers, as it seems those are the primary target of this BS.

i guess DM wont be happy then considering hes full into herps now..

It will all out BAN the import of fishes that are non-native to the USA. Think about it...if they are native why the hell would you have to import them?????!!!!

I didn't think it applied to Cichla. I understand that's what your implying but these aren't Snake Head's.

Please enlighten us on these "pitfalls."

PM me your question. ;) But as a general rule none of these Cichla are to attempted to be kept in the home aquaria for all the obvious reasons as I see it. This game isn't for everyone. And the name of the game has changed. The change is constant also as ZiareBlue has pointed out. I dont think they will but what if the ban Cichla?

The prepaired man has already won. Right now it's in the air and if you don't see it here on MFK then your not seeing it at all. Azul, Pinima, Kelberi these are Cichla that dreams are made of. Get in where you fit in and sit back and watch it all go down. Jmo someone else may feel diffrently and I am open to hear there opinion.

Folks, please don't turn this into political debate or else....

Before people start to panic read the proposed bill. It sounds like a re hash of the old bill that has or is about to expire. To check out the site of the people who will ultimately make the decision on what can and can not be imported. http://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/council/main.shtml

It's sad to say but with the problems Florida is having with Large Boa's they will probably be bad from future ownership.
