The cichlids probably think of all fry as thier own, so they dont feel the need to eat them? That or they dont want to take the chances of eating thier offspring. Lol.

I actually went fishing at UM but that was like back in 2001, I do remember the big barracudas. Caught mostly some jacks and ladyfish. They kicked us out though, are you sure they allow fishing?

I fished there 4 or 5 times, a few times while talking to security. I have never been booted. But it is a risk.
