These guys can live in both fresh and salt water?

Frankie -sorta. they can as juvies, but adults really need full salt.

there was pix of one guy a year or two ago that had a baby and had it in fresh water, but used all sorts of fake corals, etc. as teh deco in the tank...

Oh ok, thanks for the response.

I've always wanted to have a medium sized tank with a few bala sharks and disguise it as a salt water tank. I think that'd be a cool thing to do.

I'm not sure what the success rate is in FW. I hear that they don't do well when they mature and are still in fw. This guy is in SW
