My new young jardini died today. I had it for 3 weeks and i was feeding it red rosy minnows. When it died it was curled up floating. It was eating fine, i think i over fed it but is it possible? Can my fish have died because of over feeding? Someone explain to me so i can learn from this mistake. How do i start and raise a young jardini?

how big was the jar? never heard of overfeading a fish to be fatal. unless it developed a blockage? sorry to hear your loss.

never heard of overfeeding to be fatal either. Did you make sure the rosies weren't carrying diseases/pathogens on them? Check water parameters.

I find taht really small jardini's are more difficult to raise then lets say a 5-6 incher. You may have better luck starting off with one that isn't 2-3 inches.

oh damn i bet its diseases from the fish. next time just stick with floating pellets or if your really gonna feed it fishes dont feed it right away detain them for like 2 weeks in case of parasites. im sorry for your loss

my baby aro gets crickets, fd krill, pellets, and some other prepared and market foods. no feeders here. shes doing great so far. got her at 1.5" and she is now up to 5" or better. dont give up...give it another shot. they are a great fish!
