my baby aro gets crickets, fd krill, pellets, and some other prepared and market foods. no feeders here. shes doing great so far. got her at 1.5" and she is now up to 5" or better. dont give up...give it another shot. they are a great fish!
:iagree:

I'm feeding my Jar crickets as well. The best thing about crickets is that you can gut load them as well. If you feed them a high quality diet the Jar gets that nutrition passed on to him when he eats them.

I think frozen is the way to go...period. I feed frozen krill, scallops, shrimp, haddock, and various omnivorous cubes to my fresh and saltwater tanks. You know that the food you are feeding is free of anything potentially harmful.

Here's a thought if you want to feed live...try a bait shop. My buddy showed me where he get his feeders, and they are kept in medicated tanks to eliminate any parasites.

If I get feeders for expensive aros, I usually get them from baitshops... or just use ones left over from fishing. They are wildcaught and are relatively clean.

start again..try to get a slightly bigger one,,,

too much food wont kill it, but it will kill the water, and that is probably what killed your aro....;)

sorry for your loss :(

If you're gonna start w/ a 2-2 1/2 inches jar. just feed it some frozen Hikari blood worms until it gets a bit bigger and then u can start introducing other food such as shrimp, pellet sticks and other foods that the members here mentioned. i got mine at 2- 2 1/2 inches and after 3 months its now about 5 1/2-6 inches.
