Congratulations to
TomatoandEgg
for this well deserved win in the 2018 Tank of the Year contest! This amazing tank was well deserving of the win
yes this is true, a lot of the plants were stem varieties so the fish dug them all up. its possible to create a planted tank with snakeheads and have it be aquascape worthy but it takes a lot of careful rockwork, dry start mossing everywhere and secured java ferns for the bulk of the greenery. stems are a no go, and aquasoil isn't ideal for substrate, better to use sand so it doesn't turn into fine particles when they decide to try to dig out of the tank.I’m not sure, but I think I read somewhere that after that picture was taken the channa ripped everything up because they burrowed under all the roots. So it is a precious picture that may never get retaken. Got my vote for sure.
