I'm not sure whether there is a difference or not in digestion but I can tell that my arowana kills the mealworm in one bite usually, as when it chews on a worm and then decides to spit it out the mealworm is lifeless. Smaller juvie should be fed crickets instead of mealworms though as the exoskeleton may prove difficult for the fish to digest.

Not at all. If the aro doesn't spot it in time it hits the gravel were the cat gets it.

They always seem to drown before the aro gets em, I have thought about doing this though.
 
tilapia, whole market shrimp, whole smelts, earthworms, and every other week 50 large goldfish- there has been the occasional frog, tadpole, lizard, young mouse, thanksgiving turkey breast, chicken breast, pollock, wahoo, mahi mahi, and some other things that I forget
