Your dream coldwater monster tank!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think a coldstream river with a ton of trout, and some large pickeral would be awesome to build in the back yard. Have an industrial chiller high volume of water with a pool near the bottom with a viewing window in the house....gah that would be cool.

ill just name fish id like largemouth bass smallmouth bass crappie yellow perch tiger muskie muskie pike walleye sturgeon channel catfish flathead catfish coho salmon king salmon bluegill rock bass steelhead yea thats pretty much it i would love a game fish pond i guess you see lol ill do it when im older..

LArgemouth bass, smallmouth bass, crappie, bullhead catfish, channel catfish, striped bass, carp, spotted gar, bluegill/gsf hybrid and a white sturgeon

I want an antique swamp monster tank- big bichirs, gars, bowfin, lungfish, arowanas, maybe some mata-matas, with lots of hornwort, water lilies, ferns, horsetails, muskgrass, liverworts, and other old-fashioned plants.

Also, a massive American river tank with a catostomid emphasis- blue suckers, hogsuckers, buffalos, redhorses, big chubs, shovelnose sturgeon, mooneyes, shad, sunfish, and a suite of the smaller Micropterus and Morone bass.

While I'm at it, a few million dollars would be nice.

Zardoz- that would be a cool tank. European species are under-represented in the hobby.

My dream coldwater fish tank would have Artic grayling in with a bunch of colorfull minnows for feeders.

I like how you think :D! next year I might be visiting family in Vancouver, hope to go into the mountains to fish for some. They and spawning char are IMO the most beautiful of North America's fish . I'd probably add some sculpins, darters and other fish likely to be found in an oligotrophic lake along with grayling, but that's about it. Oh, a HUGE population of scuds, like a ton of them.

Thanks, Ive never seen live arctic Grayling but a friend I used to have in the Army was from Fairbanks and used to fish for them and had pictures. Beautifull fish and what really impresses me is that when they breed they are supposed to get territorial and the males will then display! Lol, yeah i think scuds are a must I used to breed them in a 5g for my Green Sunfish......I have yet to find a predator fish that wont eat a half inch Scud!
