Your Experience: rays with gars

I have always liked FL gars. Alligators and longnose just arent practical because they get very huge very fast.

I've been very curious about keeping two floridas in my 300 with my 3 motoros, 5-7" discs. My tanks got some decent flow so it may keep the gars from laying stagnant on the bottom.

Anybody have $.02 to share on the subject? Ever done it?

Once they get use to rays no problems. Ive seen mine come down to pick up food off the bottom and accidently bite a ray, but no damage done.
My gars are probably 18" or so and both are florida gars.

I had two gars in with my rays, one was fine and the other turned real nasty with just the rays, started nipping the tails and dive bombing them, not a combo I would go for again

Florida gars are to small and and alligator gars are to big

I don't think my rays would have any problems taking out a FL Gar or its eyes for sure
