central american cichlids. ive never owned an aro, but what is the big deal with them? i can see the fascination with stingrays and monster snakeheads and even bichirs but what about aros?
immense size
behavior - active and are renowned jumping feeders, a habit which virtually all keepers of the fish attempt to stife, sadly
distinctive appearance (exudes a sort of elegant power, in my opinion)
unique level of beauty (due to the large glossy scales)
the level of aggression in jardinis
And if you DONT live in america--- the incredible variety of Asian arrows

Arowanas and large predatory cats are some of my all time favorites, but there is something about the white on black contrast of the tiger datnioides that just drives me insane. That and the way they almost dance when getting ready to pounce on their pray.

Favorites in order:
tiger dats
arowanas
marble cats
red tail cats

arowanas are great, they swim elegantly, they eat like beasts, they grow big, they have great coloration (especially the asian arowanas eg. red, rtg & xbacks), impressively large scales like that of dragons.. they are always on the move so they are not boring, they don't hide all the time so they are always seen in the tank, they have nice personality.. anything that a monster fish enthusiasts/keeper is looking for they have :)

A large group of huge widebars

Neons, thousands and thousands of neons, then add an aro.

To expose a aro to that many bright lights????

I would choose a GIANT starving clown knife(for the inhalation EFFECT)
