I guess it is boring not having to worry about parasites. Man, I wish I had the excitement of trying to keep fish I didn't care about alive;)
You just have to be a responsible fish keeper and quarantine your feeders. That and be smarter than a single celled parasite. I like to treat my fish as natural as i can. And i can never once remember seeing a pellet floating around in a stream. But then again i have never been to the amazon, maybe there is pellets naturally floating around the amazon. Who knew.:D

I know just how you feel. My 3 Oscar tanks are most definitely my favorite, sometimes it almost seems I can carry on a mutual conversation with those fish. But then I stop to see the Flowerhorn and end up spending and hour watching his goofy interactions with me....I love that fish. I think the only fish I'd get again (not counting my Oscars) would be another Flowerhorn. That's saying a lot given the sheer number of fish I've got.

Mine would be my cory colection.

Mine is my top male Bolivian Ram...he's only 2.5" and he rules the tank, even chasing the Angelfish that are twice his size out of his territory and away from his food...plus he has colors to die for :)

even though i love the 45 gallon in my kitchen, my favorite fish are all in a ten gallon growout in my room, there are four severums, two pikes, and an oscar. all the fish are under two inches and they are always battling over territory. i could watch that tank for hours
i call the oscar Li because he is less than an inch long
