Post up your fighting skills and experiences.
I...
...have studied Pa Kua in China and the US
...have studied Aikido and Hapkido, somewhat superficially in the US
...am proficient in Masai sword fighting (sword and log knife/sword and spear/sword and round shield/sword only
...can throw knives with the new, non-rotation technique
...can use a blowgun quite well (cane and modern plastic)
some other stuff. Let's see what ya got.

I'm good at mortal kombat on PS2. That's about it.

maybe an XBOX controller could take me down, but a PS2 controller? pssssshh. Rallysman could probably just awe me with fish keeping might. A quick suggestion that beats any martial arts technique that I know: :nutkick:

yeah pretty much the point these days. I'm fair shot with a pistol, there are a number of reasons to know how to fight with your own hands. so don't be a jerk and say that none of it matters (not saying you are, but some people can be) This thread is supposed to be about things that take time to master, and that you don't just do for their utility in killing people. I don't really want this thread to be a discussion of 'the best way' anything. I just want people to talk about their experiences.

I can take down a half man target at 300 M with an M16A2, qualified Expert in grenades, I'm pretty good with an M213 Grenade Launcher, and I'm a mean shot with a snowball. Also can use a bayonet and dare anyone to enter my home with the Louisville Slugger I have at the ready. LOL
