I use the following:

Spinning

5' UL /2-4 lb test
7' LT / 6lb test
6'6" MD / 6-10 lb braid and mono
9' noodle / 4-6lb test for steelhead and channel cats

Fly

7' 3 wt
8'6" 5 wt
9' 6 wt
9'6" 8 wt
14' 8 wt spey

I don't get a chance to swing flies w/ the spey rod too much, but it is great for throwing big poppers for largemouth and making long casts to smallies in the river when they get spooky in late summer.

Well I only use one at a time, but I fish and have rods and reels for everything from 4lb ultra light for smallies in small creeks to stand up boat rods for cranking up snapper in the Gulf, to fly-rods for panfish on up to mahi mahi. I guess I have around 20 different set ups.

I fished with my dad's neighbor who is a semi-pro bass fisherman and that man probably had 30 rods on his boat! Funny thing was is that he only had maybe 5 different lures. You see he doesnt waste time to re-tie. He just picks up a new rod with the same bait and start slingin!

i mainly surf fish for north eastern game fish.. monster stripers (striped bass, rockfish) being my number one.. i mainly plug but i do bait fish. i also fish from my friends boat, but spend most of the time in the suds, fishing rock jetties, long 2-3 mile sand bars(my fav), ngiht fishing, live lining the flats ect ect. i throw alot of lures. i have alot of diff custom setups and custom built rods.. everything from 7 foot to 12 foot. from light to medium noodle sticks with fast tips for plugging and pencil popping to 12 foot boonies for throwing 6 oz. and a bunker head. then i have boat setups, bait setups and fly rods.. i have also have freshwater setups but dont use them much... usually if i freshwater fishing i will just use my fly rod cause thts the only way they fight. i catch loads of fish .. i wont tell you how many striped bass i catch a year because you wont believe me.. but i have pictures of monsters. i fish with pros and i have a gnarley gang of plugger that i fish with on the reg. ....Li knows about my fishing and rods for all of you that know Li... i can basically catch aything that swims and i out fish the people around me about 95% of the time and when they say theres no fish around, i will catch them right in front of you... how many people hate me after reading this   if your even in staten island let me know... i will be your guide for the day and maybe even introduce you to a few people depending on how much you know.. i also fish long island.. montauk ect, new jersey, maryland and i have been out to mass. a few times.. but i do the best in my home water in staten

usually you will miss a fish (a good size one, small fish arent worth it or they arent as smart so will swoop back around to strike again) so you will pick up a rod with a diff lure so that the fish will hit again because of a thing called "pressure" .... big fish which is usually a smart fish wont hit the same thing twice if he has almost been hook or has seen the same lure twice, three times..ect sometimes they will stick around the same areas after missing them because they are sitting over structure, bait pod ect changing your lure will be the only way to get a second chance... not to use the same lure ;)

I understand that, but I was meaning when he breaks a lure off due to it getting snagged. I almost always use either a senko or zoom trick worm as a follow bait after a missed strike with a plug. Usually works!

I have a bunch of rods...
My favorites are:

Uglystick with a Marado Evolution reel on it, 14 lb fire line.

Penn Mariner ($20 at Walmart:D) with a Penn Squidder 140, 25lb mono

In my opinion Penn has the best saltwater equipment available (the squidder rod has caught many 50-120+ lb fish and still survives despite the whole rod bending and cracking and the drag heating up to the point of not being able to touch it.).

i have my 7 ft 6 little rod which i usually use for whiting ect which has a shimano sedona 4000 with 12 pound mono... good fun... then theres the 10 ft 6 bream rod which is a killwel live fibre blank the i got made up (a fantastic rod) with the usual fuji runners and fuji fs7 backing plate with an alvey (think its 500 model) reel with the stainless steel backing plate thats my fav rod and then recently got a little 7'6 snapper rod with an okuma reel haven't spooled it up yet but gunna get some 20 pound braid with some mono backing

i have too many rods too count maybe around 20-30, i got one for eveything. wait does it count ice fishing cause otherwise i got about 15-23 rods otherwise

i only have 5 roda but i use 3 for everything, pretty much i have 5ft for just jetties and stuff, then a 7 ft for freshwater lure fishing, then a 9ft for saltwater ray fishing, but i use the 7ft and the 9 ft together for light and heavy situations.but its not really about the rod its about the reel!!!

I use my Calcutta and a stiff flipping bass rod for bass fishing and saltwater fishing(redfishing). Ive got several rods/reels combos but I always go back to the Calcutta..
