Your Monsterfishkeeping Pet Peeve

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
People who want to buy Oscars for really small thanks, and think I'm crazy when I tell them how big they grow. Basically anybody that wants a fish that eats other fish, JUST because it eats other fish.

I got one more thing I can't stand...
HEX Tanks.
Why the hell do they still make these things???
Are the demand for these hideous receptacles so high that they still have to keep them in production???
WHY,WHY, WHY ???

People who have never heard of grow out tanks and immediately start bashing without finding out if you have bigger, are going bigger or don't know.

Also agree on the hex tanks. Unless you have a fish that only swims vertically :screwy:

my pet peeve is b**ches

wheather it's cause they can't admit they are wrong...
spread bad info...
don't practice what they preach..
or what have you.. i HATE b**ches

that goes fro every aspect of life, not just fish....

i also hate people on yahoo answers :D
i was about to quote this, and say '' like 90% of the people on yahoo answers''
until i saw you beat me to it.

well let's see...

1) People thinking that cycling their 120g with a "couple of cheap feeders" because it's okay if they die, is a good idea.

2) Tanks that resemble NOTHING from what the fish came from. Even gravel and decorations about better than keeping a fish in a big glass box

3)People who are so obsessed with getting monsters that they think a 120g (while it is a large tank) is big enough for [insert random catfish here] that grows to be like 4 feet long.

This post about compatibility and/or tank size (see it every day):

They say: "Can I do this?"

You say: "No, and here's why..."

They say: "LOL. No, seriously, can I do this?"

You're right, if I'm disagreeing with you, I couldn't possibly be serious.

My pet peeve is close-minded people, like those that bash on bare bottom tanks. I have always kept my tanks decorated as naturally as possible. But bare bottom tanks can be easier to clean and in some cases really allow the fish to be showcased (think neos barramundis). Just because you don't like something doesn't make it wrong.

No one said it was wrong, pet peeves are about personal preference. I don't think barebottom tanks are wrong in themselves, as there are many technical benefits, but I still irk me.
