hi, just wondering if anyone can advise me on what the best way to get 10ftx4ftx3ft tank built into your house is. my brother and i are buying a house this year and have kept exotic fish in 6x2x2ft setups for over 5 years we just really want to know the best way to set it up and most ecomonical way eg. sump or big pond filter, material glass or perspex frame wooden or metal. If any one can help us that would be great
thanks

or people who jump on an active thread and try to hijack it instead of starting a new one. :nilly:

Going to LFS and seeing beautiful and huge fish that you can't afford to keep or properly care for.

not having enough room and not having enough money. Also when my fish decide they are not hungry after i put the food in the tank.

Mine are those that go on and on about some fish they are keeping in such a small tank and want advice and don't throw out that they have a bigger tank coming till after they get ripped for having it in a smaller tank. Sorry, if it's in a grow out, that needs to be said right away. The number of people that are, "upgrading to a really ginormous friggin tank soon," and the people who actually do upgrade are two very different numbers.

And anyone who owns a Pacu in less than a 5K gallon tank. First it's just plain ugly and only about 1% of aquarists can properly house them.

Also the people that have fish die all the time but swear that their water params are perfect and that they do water changes like every 2 days. They want someone to tell them they didn't kill their fish and the majority of the time they probably did...And by lying about the params and maintenance they are only doomed to do it again...

You know what I mean. And I would say that 5000 is pretty close to what one of those monsters need. I don't care if it's a 500 gallon tank, it's not big enough for a Pacu. 1000 is probably too small....

People at the petstore suggesting a pleco or their nifty "algae-away" products for your 10g tank is what really gets me. Why don't you see what's causing the algae and take care of it? It's sad to see all of those plecos on Craigslist, because of people's ignorance.
And people who say fish only grow as big as their tank. I still don't get that.

People who say they have something and really dont.

not having monster supplies in your local LFS... i went for large sinking pellets everywhere including petsmart and walmart {desperate} and nothing.... no one stocks the shelves with sinking large pellets.... grrrrrrr!! another order through the mail... and stocking up this time..
