Hello; I eat leftovers from time to time. I reheat them but sometimes I stir the food up before it has been completely reheated or use a spoon to remove the leftovers from a container. I use a new and different spoon for eating the leftovers not the one used to stir when not fully cooked.
I can picture someone who leaving food out on a counter that way not switching a utensil. There might have been enough toxin on the spoon???

The toxin was found in the pasta itself (and interestingly not in the sauce). But sure nothing wrong with eating leftovers if properly refrigerated -- this guy was tragically an utter dunce for thinking something left out on a counter for 5 days un-refrigerated would be ok to eat.

The sauce depending on what kind may have had to high of a acidity for the bacteria to grow properly. High acid foods are "safer" when not handled properly.

Good point, yep it was tomato sauce. If it had been carbonara maybe that would have killed him too.

Sorry, he died of coke overdose, then while dead he was munched on by a passing bear, well have to ask Go_redfish how that works
