i use a 72"x 24"x 28" for my green arrow and he seemed fine, i sold him for a young green and two rays fare trade for me so i'll be raiseing anothe green in a 200 gallon. I Know what everyone says aleast a 5000000 gallon for an arrow, but thats not what i can afford or have room for. If i could i'd run the Amazon through the house but the old lady would kill me!!!!!

i am thinking to make a tank with this dimensions do you think this will be ok for an aro?

If you could get the dimension up to 1.8m x .6m x .6m your new aro could live quite comfortably for the next 2 years maybe even 3 years. You must realize though your aro will eventually grow to be 80cm and could get to over a meter.

How is the temperature there could you possibly house the aro in a pond or outdoor aquarium?

Also this is a good thread to read regarding Silver Arowanas http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33159

 For the confused 1 foot = 12 inches = 30.5 cm = .3 meters:ROFL:

my aros 24inchs and his tank is 1.83m x 62 x 62 thats cm

hes as wide as the tank but turns easly! his turns are sharp and it looks like he has a spare 20cm to work with

should be fine for a few years

True, Silvers are the most flexable arowana's.....but it would be nice to turn around with ease, or have that comfort space in general. I personally would get kinda clostraphobic in a small space.....just a thought.

so the only thing i can do is keep him for a while ...make him happy feed him as good as i can and when he is a bit to big i will have to just donate him to the big aquarium we have here and go get a small aro again and grow him or maybe go back to my oscars :hitting:

its sad because realy i have hade many many fish like oscars, chiclids, tetras, sharks blue giants, angel fish and gouramis, parot fish.....
and many more from 13 years old with my father ,im 25 now and still love aquariums like the first day my father buy one in our house i was so excited i can still remember looking at it for hours....to the point i dont know why but arowanas was always a fish that make me feel realy realy mysterius they are so kind in movement and tho can be so fast and spastik, they are so so smart in hunting and so so beutifull..... well enough i talk today lol......

love your beutifull aros my friends because like the aros there is no other fish all fish are beutifull but lets just say are aros are special :)

Ntinos, do not count very much on Public Aquariums to receive fish. Ours here in Lisbon will not receive and I understand that this is increasingly so all over......

i know dont worry one of my best friend work in the aquarium in heraklion and i ask him and he say no problem ...you see in greece there are not so many aquarioumist people so if you donate a beutifull aro im sure they will take it and if not well ill just have to take him back to the pet shop or maybe find a beutifull pond for him.
