in the case of canister filtration which brand is the "best"? meaning-longevity, efficiency, and ease? comments please

Lots of different opinions out there. I have a fluval 404, and its the only canister I've ever had. Its only been running for 2 days, so I don't really have much experience, but it is really quiet, and I really like it so far. Rena, fluval, and eheim are probably the most popular.
You'll find the vast majority on here will tell you the eheims are the best filters out there, and i would have to agree.

if u rule out cost eheim hands down...... rena and fluval is a toss up eheim is the easiest to work with quietest built eheim tough i run fluval.... they cost less i use more freshwater than most i do 2 heavy water changes a week on my south americans and even more on my feeder and communtiy tank so running 2 fx5's with 6 ac 110's isnt my style but imo go with a nice can a make it work they are really nice pakages no matter what higher end 1 you pick
Rena is fine quality cannister IMOA. I bought xp3 and love it so easy to clean and it does not loose siphon when u set back up!
of course eheim like everyone else said, but for an efficiency to affordable factor, I think Rena is the winner. I have had nothing but problems with the few Fluvals I have had, but not so with Renas. They are long lasting, stay quiet, run cool, suck little power, and cleaning is the easiest thing ever. Plus the cost factor is very nice.
if you mean that exactly as stated then eheim, if cost is a factor, then fluval imo.powrisal;1591020; said:
